A concert of classical music was held to raise funds in support of St Botolph's (LOPO's "home").
The concert was a great success and raised £500 for the invaluable work that St Botolph's does
in the Aldgate area of the City of London. The local community around the Church is very multi-cultural and
St Botolph's has always been known for its work with the young people,
the elderly and the homeless from all sectors.
The concert was conducted by Nicholas Zaklama and started with Ravel's "Pavane pur une infante défunte" with a beautiful harp solo by Rohan Platts.
This was followed by Tchaikovsky's " Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op.33" and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op.92 (Bärenreiter Edition)" with 'cello soloist Charles Watt. A copy of the programme can be found here.
Our thanks to Denton Wilde Sapte for their sponsorship of this concert.
