About us

"LOPO" (a picture of St Botolph's, our "home") by Lydia JohnsonThe London Orpheus Philharmonic Orchestra (LOPO) was set up specially to raise money for charities through running concerts of classical music.

LOPO is a UK Registered Charity (number 1113265) and has a Board of Trustees and an Administration Committee to run its affairs. LOPO's "home" is at St Botolph's at Aldgate in the City of London.

The idea for the orchestra was born after the 2004 tsunami disaster and proved to be a success when £15000 was raised by organising a concert in London's Barbican Concert Hall.

In late 2005, LOPO responded to the devastating earthquake in Northern Pakistan by organising a series of concerts that raised over £5500 to help the victims.
