On this day last year 26 people passed away around me in the carriage I was trapped in. Even though I was left severely injured, I thank God every day that I survived those terrible atrocities. I feel no anger, just gratification that I have been given another chance to live a normal life.
Without the bravery and skills of the emergency services that day, I would surely not have survived. The care I have received from all involved and for those who cared for me in the aftermath has always been extremely caring, professional and of the highest caliber. For these people I am forever grateful.
For me there are no why's or what if's. I have learnt to let go and move on. The love of my family and friends has carried me through and will continue to do so.
I often think of the 52 people who died that day, thinking of how their lives were cut short. This is why I have made a conscious decision to live my life to the full, making every moment a good one, to help others the best I can and to thank God that I am able to walk on his Holy ground once more.
My thoughts are forever with the bereaved families and loved ones.
God Bless
